Jaya Suberg, born in Hagen in 1956, is a German artist specializing in digital and mixed media art. Since the 1980s, she has lived and worked in Berlin, Hagen, and La Gomera. Self-taught, she has developed a unique visual language that combines photography, painting, drawing, and digital collage.
In her work, Suberg uses her own photographs and urban textures to explore themes such as transience, longing, and loneliness. She combines digital techniques with traditional media to create multifaceted works that focus on the human body and emotional states.
Suberg's art has been exhibited internationally, including at the Hangaram Design Museum in Seoul, the Bastille Design Center in Paris, and the Stephen Romano Gallery in New York. In 2024 she was part of the group exhibition “Echoes of Past Dreams” at the Luisa Catucci Gallery in Berlin, where she presented her introspective portraits.
