Muriel Massin

Lyrical abstraction

Muriel Massin, born in 1949, is one of the lyrical-abstract painters. She lives and works in the heart of Paris. In her early days she worked figuratively. However, over time she developed her own abstract style, which allows her to work with material and color rather than a subject.

Since she sees painting as a physical confrontation, she works with large brushes on the floor, mostly acrylic paints and charcoal, pastels and oil brushes. Some of her works are collages with paper. As a medium she uses canvas as well as wood and paper. Muriel Massin has made a name for himself on the national and international scene and is represented at many exhibitions in France, but also in Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy and Brazil.
