Bernd Kalusche is a Germany-based artist, born in 1948, whose paintings are exhibited nationally and internationally in Austria, Luxembourg, Hungary and the Netherlands. He characterizes his work as the embodiment of the "unconditional search for beauty." Furthermore, Kalusche's distinctive abstractions are imbued with statements rather than narratives. For him, art is a process through which he "fights" his way into a painting.
For the artist Bernd Kalusche, art is something fundamentally simple. It is life. And just as life wants to be lived, so it is with his art: it is thought, felt, made, suffered.
It delights and it challenges, it arises, changes, matures and reaches dead ends and frees itself again.
In the course of his life – always with art – Kalusche has travelled across the country: Heidelberg, Frankfurt/M., Berlin, Hanover, Hildesheim, Leipzig. Kalusche is an academic artist. From 1968 he received artistic training by studying art practice (fine arts and visual communication), art history, art science and practical work with art at the universities of Heidelberg, Frankfurt aM, Hanover and Hildesheim. He also received further training in the areas of photography and sculpture/ceramics. Art was and is omnipresent.
