Each of Cvetka Hojnik's works is both a material and visual provocation to see the completeness of the intimate essence of the individual and at the same time his connection and not separation from his fellow human beings.
In 2013 she had a retrospective exhibition of her works in the Gallery - Museum Lendava. On this occasion her monograph was published and she was awarded the prize for cultural achievements at home and abroad.
"In my works I tell of the essential polarity of intertwined lives and the multi-layered nature of every being. I explore the techniques of traditional art making. The works are created systematically and carefully, using textiles, paint, natural organic materials and already used or discarded materials to tell personal experiences. I explore reflections of darkness, the works work minimalistically and as a counterweight, as a precious opportunity to turn our attention inwards, to gain time for contemplation and to be able to look into the depths."
