Markus Boltz

Born in Bochum in 1970, now lives and works in Dinslaken.

The theme of his art is determined by mystical, fantastic figures, beings and grimaces. Above all, the "encounter" should be in the foreground in the works. But the communication or the lack of cooperation between people is also shown. The works often radiate a certain indifference or arrogance, which also contains a kind of dynamism and aggressiveness. An apparently uncontrollable scenario emerges, which is deliberately chosen by the artist in order to symbolize a reflection of our society.

Although his art is based on abstraction, the focus of his work is on the expressive and emotional elements of his figures and beings. The intense colors also appear dominant in his works. The paintings and sculptures appear wild and passionate as a result. As a result, the viewer of his art is confronted with an exciting mixture of socio-political concerns, satirical elements and an extremely expressive design.
